Topics of thesis

In addition to BSc theses on "Garden and Open Spaces", MSc and MA Master theses are developed at the department. The common characteristic of these theses is that their choice of topics, scale and elaboration are in line with the themes and practices of the subjects taught by the department.

• Study of the green space system in a chosen municipality or part of a municipality, with proposals and the design of a specific site
• Contextual regeneration of a historic town centre using contemporary tools, based on the example of a small/medium-sized town in Hungary (minimum area 1-2 hectares)
• Renewal of a main street in a small town/ district
• Revitalisation of brownfield site (specific location), temporary or permanent green space development
• Residential open space renewal (minimum area 1-2 hectares)
• Public park renewal plan (minimum area 1-2 hectares)
• Nature in the city (forest parks, urban nature sites)
• Institutional garden (educational, social, workplace environment, minimum area 1-2 hectares)
• Renewal of modern, late modern and contemporary historic sites
• Contemporary cemetery renewal plan
• Landscape rehabilitation of archaeological excavations and ruin sites, for specific sites.
• Design responses to landscape design issues activated by the use of our renovated castles for tourism in a real site
• Design of a community garden/community green space (with several sample sites)
• Revitalisation of the urban stretch of a stream bank/watercourse
• Waterfront recreational environment design
• Open space design of a beach/bath/camping/resort
• Open space design of an urban outdoor sports centre
