Landscape Management and Garden Construction Engineering
The aim of study is to train landscape and garden architects who are able to set out construction, management and operation projects of landscape, open spaces of settlements and surroundings of built estabilishments, by their ecological, technical, architectural, economical and management mastery. Students also could gain competent academic knowledge to enter the second cycle of the education, to gain master degree.
Landscape Architecture
To train landscape architects to possess current ecological, economical, technical, architectural, aesthetic, creative and planning skills to be capable of fulfilling the tasks required of the landscape architecture profession.
In more detail, they are prepared to undertake the following:
a) The complex planning and development tasks of garden and open space design;
b) The professional tasks of settlement planning, urban environmental protection, landscape protection and nature conservation;
c) The additional tasks of landscape reclamation, landscape planning, regional development and the continued advancement of the theory and practice of landscape architecture.
Required number of credits: 120
Skills and knowledge required for the master's degree necessary to be obtained in addition to those obtained in basic studies:
22-28 credits: landscape ecology, botany, dendrology, informatics, contemporary architecture, public administration and law, art history and landscape aesthetics, environmental management and sociology.
Core required subjects, 18-24 credits:
Garden and open space architecture, landscape planning, nature protection, territorial development, plan graphics, forestry, communication and presentation techniques.
Additional credits to be chosen from topic areas related to the core curriculum: 34-40 credits, elective courses relevant to the student's chosen specialization.
Landscape Architecture and Garden Design
The aim of education is to train professionals in landscape design and garden art (Master of Arts) who possess creative and design skills, who are practiced in architectural space forming and aesthetic aspects, trained in current ecological, economical, technical aspects, and are capable for fulfilling the tasks required of the landscape architecture profession, first of all the design of gardens and open spaces.
Urban Systems Engineering
Training of chartered urban planner and designers who are prepared for the complex planning and development tasks of urban structural planning and regulation, spatial and regional planning, or the management of urban environment and infrastructure in the positions of chief architects, directors and leaders of state, regional or local authorities and municipalities. Chartered urban planners are qualified for planning tasks in the field of regional development and urban planning and design and, and also for technical and management tasks in the field of environment protection, monument preservation, urban management of local or regional municipalities. They are well prepared for the development and management of urban and regional plans or development programs and concepts. They have all the needed technical, ecological, economical, social, architectural and aesthetical knowledge and skills for all fields of urban and regional planning and development either they work in planning, management or scientific research.
