Development of Green Infrastructure in Historic City Centers
The fifth volume of the Green Infrastructure Booklets, issued by the Urban Planning Department of the Mayor’s Office, focuses on the possibilities for green infrastructure development in large urban areas, specifically the renovation of inner courtyards in downtown districts. This unique publication provides guidance for planners, administrators, and decision-makers on developing green spaces in the inner blocks and courtyards of historic urban fabrics.
Authors: Dr. Réka Ildikó Báthoryné Nagy, Associate Professor, Judit Gergely-Korompay, DLA, retired Associate Professor, Viktória Teremy, PhD student. The series is managed by Léptékterv Landscape Architecture Studio; editors: Dr. Réka Ildikó Báthoryné Nagy and Beáta Stefanics. Professional reviewers: István Schneller, Professor Emeritus, Imre Jámbor Professor, Dr. Krisztina Szabó, Associate Professor.
The guide is available on this link.
The Green Infrastructure Handbook series received the Landscape Architecture Award of Excellence in 2022.
Climate-Adaptive Urban Lawn Management
The Wildflower Veszprém R&D Program aims to reform urban green space management and improve adaptability. The program investigates how changes in lawn maintenance technology can create urban lawns that are more climate-adapted, ecologically diverse, and naturalistic, and explores their optimal locations in the city.
Started in 2015 in collaboration with VKSZ Veszprémi Közüzemi Szolgáltató ZRt., the program conducted habitat-dynamics studies on eight public green areas of varying character, and experimented with new maintenance technologies on six additional test sites.
The project was led by Dr. Réka Ildikó Nagy Báthoryné (Associate Professor), with university experts Attila Gergely (Assistant Professor) and Krisztina Bálint (PhD student).
University students involved: Nóra Ambrus, Emese Andráskó, Csilla Erzsébet Balásházy, Réka Bancsi, Dorka Bátori, Borbála Böszörményi, Benedek Bubics, Attila Csupcsák, Ágnes Erdelics, Alexa Haraga, Levente Hollós, Máté Horváth, Réka Kakas, Dorottya Kalocsai, Éva Erzsébet Kecskés, Johanna Krisztina Kiss, Klára Kocsis, Lili Koppány, Vivien Kovács, Emese Flóra Kubik, Kata Sára Kun, Luca Lakatos, Zsolt Leel-Őssy, Kornél Attila Lendvai, Alexandra Mátlé, Orsolya Miklós, Noémi Pap, Hanga Pénzes, Emese Judit Sápi, Brigitta Sas, Róbert Schuck, Ede Schwiegelhofer, Zsuzsanna Somodi, Péter Szabadi, Mária Szabó, Réka Szabó, Iringó Szendrődy, Sándor Vilmos Tacsi, Dzsenifer Ulbert, Dorottya Vass, Beatrix Szavéta Vidák.

Budafok City Explorer Booklet for Children
Budafok City Walk booklet for children
A creative booklet developed with students that presents Budafok’s architectural, urban, and landscape heritage in a playful way. Children complete tasks along an adventurous walking route. Using the “learning by doing” principle, students translated lecture content into child-friendly, site-specific material.
The booklet was published with support from the Klauzál Gábor Cultural Center and the Magdolna Udvar Local History Collection, and presented during the Night of Museums program.
