Introduction to micropropagation and plant tissue culturing– theoretical backgrounds and practical methods. History of plant tissue culturing, plant regeneration from cells, tissues and organs, different developmental pathways – direct and indirect organogenesis and somatic embryogenesis. Biotechnology of sexual reproduction in plants. Opportunities and application in practice. Practical knowledge – media preparation, handling of laboratory equipment, starting and maintaining sterile shoot cultures, acclimation of in vitro plant material.
