Introduction

Department of Urban Design and Urban Green Infrastructure
Head of Department: Dr. Anna Andrea Szövényi, Associate Professor

The Department of Urban Design is the responsible department for the Urban Management specialization within the Landscape Architecture and Garden Design Engineering program. It is also responsible in the Urban Engineering program for teaching subjects related to urban studies and the associated fields of knowledge, conducting related disciplinary research, and performing educational organization and coordination tasks within the program.

The core curriculum of the Urban Engineering MSc program consists of courses providing design knowledge. Over the four semesters, students primarily encounter subjects and both theoretical and practical tasks related to urban design, spatial and regional planning, and architectural design. In addition, courses in landscape architecture, environmental protection, infrastructure planning, and urban heritage conservation further enrich the palette of design-related subjects. Reflecting the program’s complexity, students can also broaden their knowledge through natural and social science courses, as well as elective subjects that best match their personal interests.
